The T-shaped finned tube reboiler is a highly efficient boiling heat transfer device which fills in the gap of boiling heat transfer devices in China and is listed in the National New Products Program of the Ninth Five-Year Plan by the State Science and Technology Commission. The T-shaped finned tube formed at one time without cutting and rolling is used in place of the ordinary smooth tubes, so that the liquid boils in the spiral channel of the T-shaped finned tube. Since rapid vapor and liquid circulation inside and outside the spiral channel results in highly efficient film evaporation in the channel during boiling, the heat transfer coefficient is increased greatly, and scaling can also be avoided during high-speed circulation.
Compared to the ordinary smooth tube reboiler, the T-shaped finned tube reboiler has higher heat transfer efficiency, lower wall temperature required for boiling, higher critical thermal load, more stable operation and higher elasticity. It has brought remarkable economic benefits for the petrochemical industry.
The T-shaped finned tube has a heat transfer efficiency which is ≥3 times of that of the smooth tube and thus reduces the heat transfer area by ≥30%. As an advanced technology in China, it passed the Science and Technology Achievement Appraisal organized by Shandong Association for Science and Technology in 1993 and filled in the gap of boiling heat transfer devices in China.

Application scope: it is applicable for industrial fields like petrochemical engineering and energies and working conditions like shell-side boiling heat transfer; not applicable for shells containing solid powder and easy-coking medium.
